I was fooling around the internet (again) and I discovered a very interesting flash animation called Low Morale! Despite the fact that this was pretty old I have never ran across it before. To get an idea about it read the extract below:
Low morale is a series of animations portraying one man's struggle to cope with the soul-sapping, will-to-live draining, life mugging, morale crushing experiences of work. Any correlation between events shown and real-life have been researched

The highlight is the animation based on
Radiohead's "Creed"!

Also check out
JCBSong.co.uk, created by the same guy! I really like his scetch style!

And finally check out the guy (
Monkeehub) himself!

Well it's been a while since my last post but finally my exams are over! So to get back in action here is another flash goody for you! LAB25 is a design firm that deals with very interesting clients (MEXX, CCS, Evisu). The neat part of their showcase for me, was the skateboard decks they' ve design for CCS. Overall I liked their grungy style and the simple, yet well built flash website. Enjoy!

What we have here is the minisite for the new IKEA advertising campaign. The target group is obviously the new students that are going to make the big step and live on their own during their studies this year. As you can see the idea is pretty good and well materialized! Again in flash with a touch of more advanced actionscript the final result is pretty warm and cozy something I believe they wanted to succeed. There are some good furniture solutions apart from good web design!

moonpallace.fr is another sample of fine flash-craftmanship! As you may noticed in the upper right corner, moonpallace.fr featured as "Site of the Day" at The W-F-A and that didn't happen by accident. The use of actionscript with vector shapes resulted in what you see and you have to admit it's very eye-candy! I also liked a lot the navigation used, while the only thing that didn't enjoyed that much is the empty space that the main scene leaves pretty blank! Other than that the French guys (remember this one?) really know how to rock!

I'm back! After a week of holidays and relaxation I'm back for work, studies, fun etc... and so here is the first link for the new season. Walk2Web.com is a very interesting application that maps the relation of one website with others that have referral links to it. I don't know what runs behind the flash interface but it works pretty well and meets the eye for good! Enter the URL of the website you want to explore and follow the results. Move your mouse over the nodes to see the screenshot while you listen to the site description from your speakers. I don't know if this is something new around the web but it really worths some of your time and attention!

Here is a goodie for you. It's all about Flashscene.org a place / community that supports and promotes the Flash demo scene. Despite the fact that there aren't many updates there are some really interesting flash demos. Below are the screenshots of my favorite one! Enjoy.

Here is another cool piece of actionscript / flash development I recently ran across. It implements physics materialized with actionscript and I have to say that the result is really interesting and useful for those that want to build a universe of their own :P The controls are very simple. Just click on the [+] symbol at the upper left corner and manipulate the universe as you like! Add, remove, edit asteroids and planets, remove / change asteroids trails etc. Be careful though... don't evoke a Bing Bang No2!

The fans of on-line flash games are gonna love this one! MediaMonks Games is a subdivision of MediaMonks with only cause of existence to make flash games for advertising purposes. What I liked was the character design and the illustrations in general that really boost the final result. The gameplay in almost every flash game is simple, funny and addictive I would say! Love-Lines.org for today! I know that this project is a little bit old because it was released in 2006... but I thought that there might be someone that hasn't heard about it. Well, this is the project of Jonathan Harris and Sep Kamvar and according to them "Lovelines is an exploration of human desire.". Both Jonathan Harris and Sep Kamvar aren't any "ordinary guys"... just check their websites. When I first ran across this site I thought that was under construction or something... but later on I figured out what was going on. This project features phrases, photos about love, hate and human desire and generally data collected from blogs using the search engine that was created by We Feel Fine. This is really interesting if you think! You may swing from love to hate using the scrollbar at the bottom of the page. If you want a more detailed description of it click here. Click the thumbs bellow and remember "Peace, Love, Technology"!

Billy Harvey Music just got a new website! What I liked in this one is the navigation. While this "type" of navigation is pretty much common I loved the way they separated the different sections of the website with Polaroid-type photos. The guy that owns Billy Harvey Music steps out in every room and does a little talking now and then... great but a little annoying after a while so press the buttons on the left to change the audio.

Greek guy Miltos Manetas and Aaron Russ Clinger a couple of years ago created a "weird" project simple called Man in the Dark, which featured a silhouette of a human being simple floating around in your screen following your mouse direction. It looks like a jelly-man and you may populate as many as you wish simple by clicking your left mouse button. I don't know in what way the made use of actionscript, but they bizarre result is interesting... after 5 minutes of playing though (yeap I reached that point) it seems pointless :P Anyway here is the link so you can fool around too!

Here is the new flash version of Genn.org. Another site that uses a less common navigation method. There is much white space as you can see, something that might look bad in bigger screen resolutions... it might look empty. As for the "WORKS" section it really simple and straightforward but I'd like the "next" and "previous" button to be some pixels lower so that they didn't cover the navigation. I also took a look at the source code of his web page and there were no search engine optimization techniques applied. Enough with the tech-geeky-stuff! Enjoy!

Recently I run into the website of a Polish media office called Metropolis Media. Their website retro-flavored reminding me the same-titled black & white movie Metropolis (1927)! At start I was a little confused about the way navigation was built, but after a while managed to figure out how the thing worked. Click on some elements on the "metropolis" and a newspaper will pop up, showing the office's applications in color while the rest of the picture stays in gray scale. If you are to mixed up about where is everything place you may use the navigation bar on the right ;) Click on the thumbs as usual!
